“Bridesmaids,” it’s not. But you’ll still get some good guffaws out of “The Fabulous Four,” a new comedy about friends traveling to Key West to be bridesmaids for their long-time friend’s wedding.

The three friends are taken aback that their college buddy Marilyn is getting remarried two months after the death of her hubby, but they agree to show up for the wedding. After all, they go waaaay back.

As you can imagine, things go awry.

The movie’s tagline sums it up: Four friends. One wedding. Lots of baggage.

“Once there, sisterhoods are rekindled, the past rises up again in all its glory, and there’s enough sparks, drinks and romance to change all their lives in ways they never expected.”

It’s a winning cast: Oscar winner Susan Sarandon (“Thelma and Louise”) as cat-loving Lou, Oscar nominee Bette Midler (“The First Wives Club”) as bride-to-be Marilyn, Emmy winner Megan Mullally (TV’s “Will and Grace”) as Alice, and Sheryl Lee Ralph (TV’s “Abbott Elementary”) as Kitty star in “The Fabulous Four.”

A feel-good comedy from director Jocelyn Moorhouse (“The Dressmaker”), Moorhouse co-wrote the screenplay with Jenna Milly and Ann Marie Allison.

Although the wedding’s set in Key West, much of the filming took place in Savannah, Georgia, with additional scenes shot at Seven Mile Bridge and Summerland Key.

When asked if any of “The Fabulous Four was shot in Key West, the Film Commissioner says: “Nope. It was all shot in Savannah. They hired a local to shoot some B-roll, but that was it.”

What’s more, the ages don’t quit match up for old college friends. Sarandon and Midler are 77 each; Sheryl Lee Ralph is ten years younger at 67; Megan Mullally is the kid at 65. Not exactly the same college class. But Hollywood often has actors play against their age.

What the heck? Enjoy being a wedding crasher.
