Welcoming film lovers to Key West’s historic Eaton Street, the iconic, life-like Marilyn Monroe sculpture outside the Tropic Cinema stands as a beautiful tribute to the enduring glamour of Old Hollywood.

“Forever Marilyn” is a sculpture created by the renowned artist J. Seward Johnson Jr., which captures Monroe in her legendary white-dress pose from the 1955 classic The Seven Year Itch.

First introduced by the nonprofit independent cinema to celebrate the golden ages of movies, the landmark perfectly mirrors Key West's rich heritage as a historic haven for legendary artists, writers, and film icons.

Though it was briefly removed in early 2023 to protect it during city sidewalk and road enhancements, passionate community fundraising swiftly brought her back to her rightful home.

Today, Marilyn remains a beloved neighborhood fixture and a must-see photo destination, capturing the nostalgic magic of independent film for locals and visitors alike.
